Coming Up Roses
Guide · New York online notary

Have these ready before your online notary session.

Remote notarization is simple when the setup is clear. A few minutes of prep keeps the session short and avoids the most common do-overs.

Your session checklist

The documentUse the final version. Do not sign it before the session unless the document instructions already told you to.
Photo IDHave a government-issued ID ready. The notary needs to check identity on video.
Camera and microphoneA phone, tablet, or computer is fine as long as the notary can see and hear you clearly.
A calm place to signSit somewhere you can answer identity questions and complete the document without being rushed.

What the notary checks

The notary checks identity, willingness, awareness, and the document itself. They need to know you are the person signing, that you want to sign, and that the document is ready for notarization.

In New York, the fee is capped at $25 per notarial act. Coming Up Roses keeps that price clear before you book.

When mobile notary may be better

Online notarization is not always the right path. Mobile notary is better when the signer needs in-person support, when the receiving party will not accept a remote notarization, or when video is not comfortable or accessible for the signer.

If you need Levee to come to you instead, start from the mobile notary booking path. For more detail about the video option, read the online notarization page.

Common questions

Can I use a New York online notarization from another state?

Yes. A New York remote notarization can be completed for a signer in another state, as long as the notary follows the required identity and video-session rules.

What if the document recipient says no to online notarization?

Use mobile or another in-person notary path. The recipient controls what they will accept, so it is worth checking before you book.

Choose online or mobile on the booking page. You will see the price before you send anything.
